new years day

Here it is new years day first post of the year. A painful one . Black mold. I hear a migraine, two of them in fact.Mary and myself seems like a nasty start. The future looks better.
Mary is thinking of starting her own blog. Should be good.
Knitting goes on as usual, scarfs, ponchos ,hats a few other things.

sept 14 ,2009

Here it is Sept.14, and I can't sleep, today Chuck goes in for a heart catherization, typical me worried to the max. He is sleeping soundly, didn't even here me get up. Well it's a good thing he is.I finally found out why he had started to watch football all of a sudden,Brett Farve, first with the Pack then the Jets,now with Vikings, he says he's fun to watch never know what he is going to do/.I know my grammer and punctuation is none existantant today, Hey It's 3:00 am what do you expect. Rob is up too. wish us luck.

Here it is the weekend before school starts and I am finally doing some blogging , Yes I know , where have I been, what 's been happening.? I should be ashamed of myself for not blogging. You know what , I don't have a good excuse, DH has been commenting to me about updating, OH WELL, I have gotten some knitting done , 2 pairs of finger-less gloves, a hat and a few other assorted things , have joined the local charity knitting group , these ladies are mostly crocheters with a few knitters thrown in, They did over 600 mittens and hats last year.
Lots of migraines this summer, and a few assorted accidents, sprains ,broken toes, the usual stuff for me.
Rob is doing well in Kaplan, he made the presidents list for honors, Mary is starting her sophmore year at IQ Academy . well see what happens next. no sheep wool festival this year shuckie darn. talk to you later.

Gorgeous day! Sun shinning ,some clouds, nice breeze,not overly hot out. Temp maybe 75, I like this type of day. Looks like the week will be like this. good.
Mary is done with school for the year, means sleeping in late,maybe. Trying to get her to get her room clean, before Janet gets here, I would like it done much before that. Mary had a good birthday ,she now is the proud owner of her own laptop, a toshiba with a large screen the envy of her dad.and I received my own cell phone. It is nice now I can be reached anywhere at anytime.Take today, Cathy and I were at the Chinese resturant in Waunakee and Sarah called surprise!! I was in the middle of the loading up from the buffet. Oops, didn't mean to drop the spoon in the General Tao's chicken . Mary downloaded Firefox for me, works better than Internet Explorerer. Rob cleaned it out last night and got rid of alot of unnecessary junk.
Oh yes, today is also knit in public day (kip) . Must get back to the knitting.so much yarn and so little time. Also got to think what to get DH for father's day. Any suggestions?

May 7,2009 The day after

What a glorious day! Foggy out this morning and looking like rain and a possible thunder boomer.YES, love the sound of thunder and the clash of lightning, Week started off ok , nothingt much going on . Tuesday we took the car to get some work done. Hubby had a concert at the local nursing home, while DD was home with a nasty migraine, which she passed on to me lovely things aren't they.
Wednesday started out normal enough, I was upstairs getting laundry ready to wash and Simba, lovable mutt he is, started to bark. I was on my way down the steps when I.. fell and twisted my right ankle.
Called to chiropractor and made an appointment. So here I am sitting on my bed typing away. and doing some knitting. Joined Twitter as grandma spazzy, and I am on Ravel as tritne.Looks like i have some grocery shopping to do among other things. will try to be better at posting

Febuary 25, Sunny day warm for Wisconsin this time of year,about 40 degrees out. Hubby complaining about my spelling and punctation. Why haven't I done more blogging. Well guess I don't have any excuses now that he has gotten me my own laptop. Yes, I am spoiled rotten , sometimes. News isn't so great Brother-in-law Ted is doing quite poorly.He has hospice at home and the Doctor gives him 2 weeks. My nephew Mike's mother-in-law passed away yesterday morning.Not a good Day.

Probably should have added a new paragraph. Still being way behind on by knitting, having a hard time with the motivation. Thinking about joining the Madison knitting guild, my favorite author, Stephanie Pearl Mcphee is coming for KIPing day in March at the Bishop O'Connel center in Madison.

Got a couple of new books, "It Itches" by Franklin Habit, "Dewey, the library cat" author escapes me,the new Mason Dixon book and the latest "Yarn Harlot"book. Looking for some new mysteries to read also.Well closing for now.Will try to be better about posting.

November's rainy days

Here it is the 11 of Nov. Veterans day. A suitable day for remembering those they served to make this country free.
I'ts been awhile since I've posted , some things have happen and here we are getting ready for another "breakfast with Santa" doesn't seem that this year has passed so quickly . Gas is at $2.17a galleon here for regular , were it was at one time $4.00 or more.
Knitting wise I am stuck can't seemed to get motivated, A afghan for Sarah, and a poncho for Mary and a Baby surprise jacket for Wendy, sitting in a corner, Shame on me! Well guess i'll light that firre under my tush and get with it!! Will be back later.

september sighs

Where has the time gone? Here it is already September and school has started and the Sheep and Wool festival was last weekend. Mary has gotten taller and is enjoying going to school from home, She is attending IQ Academy out of Waukesha and is doing very good in algebra. Hubby is putting long hours in at his job, and I am helping out by doing the cleaning job with Mary. Give him a break.

Oh yes, we now have a functioning hot tub, situated on the front porch.Still struggling on the knitting projects, We have some more pictures to post . Picked up some lovely wool yarn, I think I am going to make a carry all with it. Mary bought a new spindle and some alpaca fleece to spin , so soft. I also got a new book, knitting who done it, call 'Cast on, Bets off by Jack Olesker' , pretty good as usual I finished it in one sitting, Mary is forever showing me something new on the computer.

Pictures are of Spazzy, the grey cat and Archimedes Luna Diana Jiji Yuya , the orange cat who we call Archie for short, and Simba, our lovable mutt.

Winter Blues

Here it is the day after Valentines , all is quiet and extremly cold. The WM is predicting more snow this weekend and estimate of 12 inches or so. ENOUGH ALL READY. I can't wait for spring to get here.!!!
On the knitting front still working on the afghan for Sarah, the poncho for Mary, and now a baby blanket for Wendy(a friend) she is due in September, poor thing doesn't know how to knit . We'll fix that.

Dark and Gloomy day

Here it is the 21'st of Dec . My son os another year older and my hubby's birthday is in 2 days.School gets out today for Christmas break and Mary is happy, she and Rob are playing UO online. She seems to enjoy it.Not to many hand made gifts this year, just can't keep at the knitting for some reason. Maybe it's because we have all had the nasty stomach bug going around. Hpefully 2008 will be better. We will see about being better at blogging too. Everyone have a Merry Christmas and a Happy Holiday.

just another day

Well here it is almost the middle of November, and we are getting ready for breakfast with santa this weekend. Things have been pretty slow here. Mary and I did ok at the wool and sheep festival in Sept. I picked up some lovely Blackberry Ridge hand painted merino and
Mary got some soft camel colored rovings . also her bike helmet. She has taken some pictures of Spazy and Archie, our cats. I am trying to get her to post them here , we will see what happens. I'll try to be better about posting. Namaste

festival time

Here it is Saturday September 8, and we are going to the sheep and wool festival in Jefferson . Mary has said she will go with me . I think we will have a good time. I am looking for a spindle of my own. Karen from the retreat mention should would be there so we will see she hasd some great looking ones before. Looking for some new places to get yarn and such too.
I think one reason Mary is going is because I said would stop and get her a bike helmet plus some more fleece.I am looking forward to going we leave at 9:30 am. More when we get back.

Last day of freedom

Today is Labor Day, last day of freedom for Mary , back to school tomorrow, she came back Saturday night.and seemed to be happy to be home. Janet walked her legs off, and she has great pictures of ocean and Max and Jimmy and Max, Hopefully we will get more out of her when she fully recovers.
Knitting wise, I am still working on Sarah's afghan and Mary's poncho, I have a few more things I like to start the bath mat from the Mason Dixon Book, some socks, and a sweater coat. That should take a year to do the way I knit lately. Going to The Sheep and Wool fesitival next weekend, I am hoping to get some Blackberry Ridge yarn and a spindle for myself.
Oh yes, Max is a long haired dachund that Janet rescueed. and Jimmy is her significant other.
Taking a break now, need a nap before doing some last minute school shopping.

august 16 , 14 years

Well I am not doing a too good of a job blogging, since it is already the middle of August, much has happen . with Rob moving back home.Nice to have him home. Mary has gone to Washington to spend some time with her Aunt. First time flying, seems she enjoys it. The wool and sheep festival is Sept 8-10, I am planning to be there.A little out of order,
G-ma has been to the hospital again, she appears to be better. Our 14 th anniversary is today , we went out to breakfast this morning. will see what the day brings.

At Last June

well here it is the 2nd of June, already skipped all of May. Mary's brithday is tommorow a teenager , here in our mist, she is all ready acting the part. Not much knitting done I keep frogging things that I start .,Mary is still spinning though, she is doing well.
Read the Yarn Harlot,her oldest is now 18 , If I remember correctly, Stephanie will hit 40 on the 14th. And me ,well I hit 50 on the 7th.School gets out then too here. Hopes to be a good summer. I am driving more again, so watch out I may run you over!!

The end of April

Looks like it 's getting to be a bad habit , not blogging, almost like my knitting.
This weekend is the midwest alpaca festival in Madison and I still don't know if I am going . Hopefully I will it' s not expensive 4.75 for parkingand I saw something about the seminars are free , don't quote me, Hoping Kim Ogle will be there . Mary picked up a spindle and some roving the last time we were at Susan's fiber, and I am hoping to get another spindle there . Kim 's brother makes some beautiful ones . Well thats all for now

March came in like a Lion

Well here it is the ides of march it's been windy out and there is a promise of rain and snow mixed together. We had a little problem with G-Ma about 2 weeks ago, she woke up in her room at the nursing home and threaten to kill her roomate. Some new medication and taking care of a severe UTI cleared things up. She is again her happy self.
Other news Mary didn't make it to the solo ensemble contest due to bad weather , we had a blizzard that weekend. She will play with the 6th graders May 6,Everything seems quite for awhile, Knitting wise I gotta get up off my duff and get going. Really want to take a nother trip toSusan's if I can. well thats all for now. bbl

Mid week blues

Here it is Feb .21 and I haven't kept my promise for posting, things have been a little crazy around here. We are finally out of the deep freeze and have had some decent weather for a change. with that comes cleaning the yard of all those doggie presents, sigh yuck,
Mary has solo-enesemble this weekend, and Chucks back a work, Cathy is doing well , she seems happy to be here.Haven't heard from Sarah in awhile hope things are ok with her, I miss her. wish she was closer than Texas, we are going to get Robs car in order here.ther than that things are pretty quiet. Knitting is slow still working on socks, and Sarah's afghan and Mary's poncho. Well try to keep posting.

Quiet times

Well here it is Feb 10, and i have been on for awhile, News : we have a new boarder , who happens to be a good friend, makes things alot easier. In the process of sorting out G-mas stuff, you wouldn't believe some of the things we have found.She was hidding things all over the place.
The knitting retreat went well and I learnt some new techiniques,Hazel was a delight , she had the whole room in awe when she showed as some of the shawls she had knitted .She also knitted a pair of socks in last than a day . I can only hope to do as well as she does when I am her age.
Hubby has been off this week, vacation ,good thing too one of his ribs have been popping out of place and it has been colder than heck minus 35. They even called school off, made Mary happy.
